Story

We, the Martinez family, are a dedicated and loving family with a strong commitment to both faith and service. My husband and I have served as Adventist educators for over 20 years, sharing and modeling our passion for spiritual growth and mission service with our students. Currently, we are part of the faculty team at Pine Hills Adventist Academy in Northern California. We have been blessed with three vibrant children—Decean (11), Aniden (10), and Xyanna (8)—who bring joy and energy to our home and community. As parents, we are excited to share this same passion with our children.

This summer, from July 18-29, 2025, our family will be embarking on a short-term mission trip to Paraguay with Maranatha Volunteers International. We are beyond excited for this opportunity to serve, grow, and share the love of Christ with the people there. Our mission is not only to serve others but also to strengthen our family’s faith and grow together in the spirit of service.

The mission trip will include a variety of projects designed to meet the needs of the local communities, such as building a church, assisting with children’s programs, and working alongside local churches. This will be a meaningful experience, not just for us as parents, but also for our children, who will be joining us on this journey. The trip is unique in that it is organized with families of all shapes and sizes in mind. We will be taking things a bit slower, involving kids in as many aspects of service as possible. It’s an incredible opportunity for our entire family to live out our faith and be part of something much bigger than ourselves.

Though we firmly believe God is opening this door for us, we have a lot of work to do. The trip will cost $2,300 per family member (there are five of us!). As a family, we are reaching out to ask for your prayer and financial support to help make this trip possible.
